Welcome to Omniglotomous!
Omniglotomous is the title card of our online school curriculum to help many people begin learning a new language, refine their skills in a language that they've already been learning, and improve the confidence of others who have studied but have limited outlets for using a language or learning more specific materials for their future or present endeavors.
Hi! I'm Faith Hayahi and I've been working with people from all over the world in private and public school settings to aid in the acclimation and retention of foreign languages since 2011. I started officially working as a private tutor in 2017 and have loved every step along the way to this project. When I was younger, I had a pension for learning new skills and translating projects for family and friends. I loved to share in culture and experience among friends and family of a variety of backgrounds, and growing up I did a lot of personal translation for family in particular. As I got older, I found myself in Latin courses, German courses, and even started working on learning Korean in my free time when I was approximately 16 years old to hopefully share in jokes and conversations with some of my older coworkers. I had no idea that working in a restaurant would lead me to today, owning my own school! For several years, I focused on part time jobs and college, while tutoring privately to help teach from Korean to English, and Japanese to English. Here and there I would work on Latin and German, especially in a school setting. And I eventually graduated with an intermediate understanding of German to apply to the real world. Upon graduation, I was given my first translation task, translating cosmetics' ingredients and advertising for a smaller brand. Later, this developed into a project in Japan for Korean skincare products, and was swiftly followed by working in Korea for the same brand. In 2019, I worked with a humanitarian company to present for funding programs to aid single mothers moving to the US from Korea as well. After several years of translation work, I decided to get qualified to teach Korean and Japanese, as well as English, and began the project of opening my own school! As of today, the Omniglotomous brand is officially four years old, but I have been teaching officially for six years! My previous work experience outside of hospitality and translation was in medical services, and I've also had a lot of training in the justice division. My hope is to apply everything I know into a concise schooling system that accepts a variety of students from all over the world to participate in not only learning their language of choice, but also building community in the places they live. Programs currently offered are Comprehensive English, English for Children, Comprehensive Japanese, and Comprehensive Korean. I plan to obtain renewed certification to teach German in the next year, and will also be adding more languages to the service list as I gain qualifications necessary to teach each subject! I do currently work with people not only from North America (English, Spanish, French speakers), but also European students (primarily from the UK, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, and France), Asian students (China, Japan, South Korea, India, Oman, Turkey, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand) and South American students (Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Netherland Antilles, Argentina, and El Salvador) and look forward to continually expanding into more countries in Africa, as well as outlier countries such as Australia and New Zealand. It has been an honor to work with everyone for so many years at this point and I'm looking forward to every year that comes next and how much bigger and better this community will continue to grow!
